Ocala recognized as Tree City USA for environmental conservation.

by Katherine Murphy / ocalalocal.org

The City of Ocala has been recognized as a Tree City USA, meeting the program's requirements which include having a tree board, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. Earth Day serves as a reminder of the significance of environmental conservation to safeguard our planet for future generations.
