Ocala Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on SW MLK Jr. Ave. on Tuesday afternoon. The fire was reported by a passing driver around 4:00 p.m. Several units, including Engines 1, 3, and 4, Squad 7, Rescue 1, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer, arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, smoke was seen coming from the eaves of the small, single-story building. Engine 1 and Squad 7 entered the building to combat the fire, while Rescue 1 conducted a search to ensure no one was inside. Engine 3 prepared the water supply, while Engine 4 stood by for rapid intervention.

After the fire was brought under control, Squad 7 conducted a secondary search and confirmed that the building was unoccupied. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

In addition to Ocala Fire Rescue, other agencies that responded to the incident included the Deputy Chief, the Fire Prevention Division, the Ocala Police Department, and Marion County Fire Rescue.
