Ocala Celebrates City Government Week Work Culture

Staff Report / ocalalocal.org

The City of Ocala is celebrating Florida City Government Week by highlighting its work culture. The initiative, led by the Florida League of Cities, Inc., encourages local municipalities to demonstrate how government activities benefit their communities.

Ocala emphasizes a welcoming environment for its employees, with a focus on ensuring they feel valued. City Council plays a pivotal role in this commitment, openly recognizing the hard work and dedication of staff members. New employees receive formal acknowledgement during Council meetings, where the Council President often welcomes them with the phrase, "Welcome to the family."

This supportive leadership approach aims to create an engaging work culture, bolster employee stability, and foster a positive overall work experience.
