IPS Students Make History at Winter Games

**IPS Students Shine at Special Olympics Indiana State Winter Games**
Indianapolis, IN – Students from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) have made history as the first-ever Marion County-IPS delegation to compete in the Special Olympics Indiana State Winter Games. The event marked an inspiring milestone for the school district, showcasing the athletes' determination, teamwork, and training.
Under the guidance of Marion County Coordinator Matt McComish, the athletes trained rigorously in preparation for events such as snowboarding and snowshoeing. Despite having no access to actual snow or slopes, students utilized resistance training, endurance drills, and innovative exercises to simulate outdoor conditions.
The Special Olympics team’s efforts reflect IPS’s dedication to providing inclusive opportunities for all students to thrive. WRTV was on-site at Arsenal Technical High School earlier today to hear directly from the athletes about their experience and accomplishments. The story will feature on WRTV’s broadcast tonight.
Congratulations to the IPS athletes on this historic achievement!
