The Indianapolis Office of Sustainability said it has named the members of the 2026 cohort of Thriving Nonprofits, an initiative funded by the McKinney Family Foundation and the Indianapolis Foundation.

The initiative is aimed at mission-driven organizations in Marion County. The program is designed to help participating groups increase energy efficiency in their facilities, reduce operating costs, and build environmental resilience.

Organizations named to the 2026 cohort are: Dathouse, Inc.; FaithCares Community Food Pantry; Gennesaret Free Clinics; Groundwork Indy; IF Theatre; Indiana Interchurch Center; Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc.; Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra; IYG, Inc.; Scott United Methodist Church; Stop the Violence Indianapolis, Inc.; and Trinity Haven.

According to the announcement, each organization will receive an energy-focused assessment of its facility by IFF. The program will also provide matching grants of up to $10,000 for building upgrades intended to reduce energy usage. The post says cohort members can redirect cost savings into frontline community services and programming after utility bills are lowered.
