Ocala Police Urges Halloween Safety Tips

Staff Report / ocalalocal.org

The Ocala Police Department is reminding residents to prioritize safety while celebrating Halloween tonight. They have shared a list of safety tips for those planning to go trick-or-treating.

Trick-or-treaters are advised to bring a flashlight, use sidewalks and crosswalks, and only accept candy at the door without entering homes. Parents should also check candy and dispose of any unwrapped or suspicious items. Attention to traffic is crucial, and drivers are encouraged to stay alert and reduce speed in residential areas.

The department urges anyone who notices suspicious activity to contact the police.
